JAPANESE SATSUMA EARTHENWARE VASE, MEIJI PERIOD (1868-1912), H 9 1/2"

An elongated baluster form, cobalt blue ground with gilt foliage and fans of red and green; a figural reserve of villagers and a structure in the background, at the opposing side a rooster is perched in a blossoming cherry tree. Marked at the underside, likely Ryozan or Kinkozan (see additional photo). Measures H.9 1/2", Dia.2 3/4".
