MEISSEN (CO.) (GERMAN,) PORCELAIN LIDDED SAUCE DISH ON BASE PLATE, MID 19TH CENTURY, H 5.5" DIA 8.25"

The number 61 on the underside and crossed swords. Covered round bowl with accompanying underplate, decorated in cobalt insect motifs and encrusted with floral blossom and bud sprays, with gilt banding on the rims. Diameter of lidded dish 4.75"

Lid: Three flowers have chips/losses to petals. Six leaves have chips/losses with some inpainting. The lemons, handle, and flower buds are in great, untouched condition. Bowl: Six flowers have chips/losses to petals. Ten leaves have chips/losses with some inpainting. The lemons and flower buds are in great, untouched condition. Plate (basin): Seven flowers have chips/losses to petals. Five leaves have chips/losses with some inpainting. The lemons and flower buds are in great, untouched condition. Plate (underside): Each flower to the underside exhibits chips/losses with inpainting. Thirty leaves to chips/losses with some inpainting. Legs are in great, untouched condition. CP
