The East India Government carbine lock is stamped "Birmingham 1869" and also a crown over "E.I.G". The wood stock is also stamped with the crown over E.I.G.. Having a side saddle ring, fixed notch rear sight, swivel ramrod, brass butt plate and trigger guard. The accompanying pistol is stamped "1858 Tower", any other stamps are no longer visible. Having a fixed notch rear sight, swivel ramrod, brass trigger guard and butt plate with lanyard ring.
The carbine has some surface scratches to the wood stock. The stamps are clear and legible. Action functions properly. The pistol show much wear and pitting to the metal. The visible markings are very worn and all other markings are no longer visible. The hammer does not hold in place.
