GEORGE BUCKNER (AMER, 20TH C), FLORIDA HIGHWAYMEN, OIL ON ARTIST'S BOARD, H 24", W 36", COASTAL VIEW

An oil on artist's board by George Buckner (American, 1942-2002), a member of the Florida Highwaymen. While considered part of the Indian River School, the Highwaymen were not a structured group. The artists, aside from Alfred Hair, were not traditionally trained--they learned techniques from one another, while also developing their own style. Depicting a moonlit coastal view with palm trees in the foreground. Artist's signature ("G. BUCKNER") to the lower right. Frame measures H 27.5" x L 39.5".

Artist's board is in untouched condition. Without conservation efforts. Moderate edge wear to frame. CP
